Ecology

We have more than 40 years of experience in teaching and learning about ecology and natural history. We have particular expertise in myrmecology (the study of ants), conservation and restoration of mangrove forests, and the ecology of carnivorous plants and forests of the New England (USA) region. We have worked on ants, mangroves, and carnivorous plants all around the world.

We offer in-person and online presentations, workshops, and short courses about ants, mangroves, and carnivorous plants to audiences of all levels, from pre-K through lifelong learners, and from hobbyists and enthusiasts through professional scientists and natural-resource managers.

We also can:

  • Identify ants, mangroves, and carnivorous plants;
  • Work with community-based mangrove restoration projects;
  • Help you learn how to grow carnivorous plants and rear ants;
  • Advise you on how to encourage troublesome ants to go elsewhere and leave you alone.
